Spital am Semmering

A small friendly resort close to the summit of the Semmering Pass near to Vienna. Not the biggest, but certainly well equipped and well groomed for those who enjoy relaxed skiing away from the crowded and popular resorts further west.

Spital lies some 80kms south west of Vienna. Easy access from Vienna airport via rail (2hrs 30 mins)    or road (1hr 20mins) see Travel

A range of accommodation from Bed and Breakfast to Half-board and self-catering. Categories range from private pension through to four star. Some  accommodation is  on the slopes, with the remainder within 5 to 10 minutes walk. Equipment can be stored at locations on the slopes by arrangement

Skiing is mainly of beginners to intermediate, with more advanced skiers able to use the nearby slopes in Semmering (same lift pass). Ski schools use the Austrian style of course !
