The favourite Alpine Hut of the whole alpine region of Europe no less!

A family owned and run hut, with genuine pedigree. I remember when this was a real log cabin, with real log cabin amenities! These are now fully up to the standards expected !

The Schwaigerhütte lies just below the topmost point of the Weißenelf lift. A short run takes you there. It is a great place to de-frost in, with atmospheric log cabin charm and excellent cuisine, the cakes being absolutely fantastic !

The site is written in German, mostly self-explanatory. We have written a translation of the history of the Schwaigerhütte for you below.

The Schwaigerhütte was built in 1972 by Josef Schwaiger. Since when it has been run as a family concern. In 1995 the guestroom was enlarged to accommodate approximately to seat 90 in a rustic and cosy ambience.

Currently it is run by Max and his team, including his sister who prepares the most exquisite pastries and cakes you could wish for!
